The Anthem Medicare Advantage Plan Transition

Effective January 1, 2020 the OLDC-OCA Insurance Fund will transition the insurance coverage for current Medicare members from the Humana Medicare Advantage Plan to the Anthem Medicare Preferred (PPO) with Senior Rx Plus plan. You will automatically be enrolled in this new plan.

YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO DO ANYTHING TO CONTINUE COVERAGE WITH OHIO LABORERS.

Just like your current plan with Humana, your new plan with Anthem is a Medicare Advantage plan covering both your medical and prescription needs. Your $400 deductible will remain the same, and your monthly insurance premium to Ohio Laborers Benefits will not change. (As a continued reminder, do not purchase a separate Medicare Part D plan, or you will be dropped from coverage with Ohio Laborers. However, your continued enrollment in both Medicare Parts A and B is required to remain eligible.)

Over the past few weeks, you should have received a packet in the mail from Anthem. Please review these materials. Around mid-December, prior to the January 1, 2020 effective date, you will receive your new ID card. Make sure you show this new card to any of your medical or pharmacy providers prior to any appointments or prescription fills starting in January.
